Soap & Glory Sweet Tintations mega haul review

I love makeup, I love trying new products, and I love a good sale! At the beginning of April, I was browsing the Boots website and noticed that some of the Soap & Glory Christmas sets were on super sale. At this point I’d only tried the Sexy Mother Pucker lipstick in Cinnamon Beige (one of my absolute faves) and Kick Ass face powder, so I was interested in testing out their other products.

The tin holds 11 products, which would normally cost €105 separately. Originally sold at €80 at Christmas, then €50 in the post-holiday sales, I managed to grab this set for €30 and I’m delighted! I hadn’t tried a single one of these products yet and I think that it’s a great price to just blindly test a brand. It’s worth noting that Soap & Glory is cruelty free! These are the products that I'll be repurchasing, and those that didn't quite hit the mark for me.

Original Pink body spray

There’s not much to say about this body spray. It’s the original pink fragrance, its scent doesn’t last forever and it would be a great gift for your teenage sister. I like using it during lockdown so that I still smell fabulous, without using my more expensive perfumes for a day at home.

I can’t find this product on the Boots website, but other body sprays cost €6 while an Original Pink body mist in a different bottle costs €8 on Boots.ie for 10ml more than the body spray that I have. Needless to say, I won’t be repurchasing, as lockdown should be over by the time that I’m finished with the bottle and I’ll be out and about wearing my nice perfumes.

Thick & Fast High Definition Mascara

I don’t usually buy mascara that costs more than €3 or €4, so this €14.50 product would normally never so much as grace my wishlist.

Honestly, I’ve been dead right all along. I see absolutely no difference in the results of this mascara and my regular €4.50 Catrice one, except for the huge clumps I end up with for eyelashes caused by the enormous applicator. I’ve had to use the Thick & Fast mascara first, then fix my eyelashes with whatever cheaper mascara that I’m using at the moment.

The formula is non-flaky and dark black, but so are my normal staple mascaras. For that price I’d want a unicorn to come out of the tube and apply it for me! I’m glad that I got to try this product out, but I’ll never buy another one, nor any other mascara that costs so much.

Sexy Mother Pucker lip gloss

I’m not sure how I feel about this plumping gloss.

I probably wouldn’t choose this shade normally, so when I do wear it, it’s usually on top of another lipstick (usually the Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker lipstick in shade Cinnamon Beige because it’s my current favourite). It tingles, absolutely. I don’t really see any difference on my lips physically, and unless I find a shade that I cant live without, I doubt I’d buy another one.

Bright & Beautiful Sheet Mask

Marketed as a ‘post-party pick-me-up’, this mask contains lotus flower, cherry blossom and rooibos tea extract and vitamin C. Vitamin C alone is great for your skin, helping its regeneration process, while also evening out skin tone and enhancing skin radiance.

Normally €4.99, I didn’t apply the mask after a long night, but rather during a pamper session as part of my night time skincare routine. I usually use clay masks, so this was my first sheet mask. It was an interesting experience. I struggled to unfold it, for one. I was genuinely afraid that I’d rip it before I even got it on my face, and I think I missed unfolding a bit on my nose, so. The mask was dripping, even before I put it on, which made it an uncomfortable experience. And it was cold! In summation, my first sheet mask experience was not as enjoyable as my usual clay mask, and I don’t think I’d try again, though I enjoyed not having to wash it off after the 20 minutes!

Wonditioner Conditioning Hair Mask

This is another product that costs a fortune (€11.99 for 300ml) but does the same job as your regular €4 conditioner. Enriched with pink clay, argan oil, shea and cocoa butter and smelling of the classic Soap & Glory pink fragrance this isn’t anything too special.

I use this Wonditioner as a special treat to switch up my showering routine but I don’t see any difference when I step out. I also don’t like that this product is in a tub- try juggling a handful of the product, naked, trying to screw the lid back on without dropping it or getting any water in it! Final verdict; I wouldn’t repurchase this. There are other, better products from Soap & Glory!

The Scrub of Your Life body scrub

I don’t usually mess around in the shower; I’m in and out as soon as my thick hair rinses out, and I don’t normally fanny around with different products on my skin- a bit of shower gel and a loofah is all that I need. So I was a bit weary of adding precious minutes to my routine with a body scrub, but I love this so much.

At €10 (this one’s a treat for sure), this ‘body buffer’ smoothes your rough elbows, dry shins and other bumps.

I personally don’t have much of a problem with rougher skin since I moisturise several times a day, but even I found my elbows exceptionally silky soft.

I enjoy the lathering in the shower and I enjoy the softness out of the shower- I definitely recommend this body scrub!

Clean On Me shower gel

I never put much money in shower gels- after all I’m going to wash it off immediately and I won’t even smell it by the time I’ve walked out of the bathroom door. The Clean On Me shower gel is another nice little treat on a hard day, but it’s not something that I would repurchase.

Scented with the Soap & Glory signature pink fragrance, I was really disappointed with this €8.50 shower gel. I found that it creates less of a lather than my other, much cheaper shower gels. It’s supposed to be formulated with a built-in body lotion, but I didn’t notice any additional skin softness once I got out of the shower. I do enjoy the pump on the bottle- but that certainly isn’t enough for me to love about this product.

The Righteous Butter body butter

For €13, this body butter is absolutely glorious and the perfect gift. I just love it! I moisturise my whole body once or twice a day with boring aqueous cream, so this body butter is an absolute treat.

Formulated for very dry skin, this thick and indulgent body butter is supposed to be applied over damp skin, but I prefer to apply once I’m just dry, when my skin is soft, supple, and in need of moisturisation.

Because of the cost, I wouldn’t buy this every month, but I’d definitely like to have it on hand for a pamper day!

Soap & Clarity Vitamin C Facial Wash

Finally, a product I adore that’s more affordable per ml than the Simple facial wash I’ve been trying to replace (Simple isn’t cruelty free, so isn’t invited to my party)!!

At €9.99 for a whopping 350ml of product, this facial wash is perfect as a cleanser before your makeup in the morning, or as a cleanser when you’ve removed your makeup as part of your evening routine.

Formulated with Vitamin C that brightens your skin and helps to repair any damage, I love to use this first thing in the morning to wash off any oils from the night before I apply moisturiser and foundation. It foams nicely, while being easy to rinse off. I will definitely be repurchasing this!

Hand Food hand cream

I’m a huge fan of hand cream- ask anyone I know and they'll tell you that I’m constantly rubbing my hands together every time I wash my hands- which is frequently, pandemic or not. My hands are always dry, and I hate the feeling of cracked skin, so I obviously love the Hand Food hand cream.

Since it’s in a handy pump bottle, I love putting it by my sink, so that I use it right after washing my hands. It smells great, my hands are happy, and so am I! Unfortunately, it is €11 for 250ml of product, so I’ll really have to debate on buying it again or not. My regular Lacura hand cream from Aldi is less than a euro for 75ml, but I really do love the luxury of having a hand cream right beside my sink.

Fizz-A-Ball bath bomb

I can’t really comment on this €5 bath bomb, since I hate baths- and by that I mean my skin strongly dislikes being in water for long periods of time. Am I the only one who can’t stand the feeling of my fingers pruning? Even though it’s all wrapped up, I can tell you that it smells pretty great, but not enough to entice me to dip my toes in. I’ll be giving this to my mother, who already has a whole stash of bath bombs I’ve been gifted over the years!

Thank you so much for reading my blog post! Is there anything you’ve tried from Soap & Glory that I should definitely try out? I’d love it if you followed me on Instagram @lapetitemis, I post all of my latest beauty and skincare hauls as I post them- always cruelty free! See you next time!
